The 2017 Major League Baseball season was the 117th season of Major League Baseball in the modern era that began with three games beginning with the 2016 World Series champion Chicago Cubs traveling to St. Louis to take on the Cardinals on April 2 and ended on October 1. The World Series featured the Los Angeles Dodgers who lost to the Houston Astros, who won after a huge sign stealing scandal in which they used a trash can to relay the Dodgers' pitch signs to their batters.
