The 2022 Major League Baseball season began on March 31 and is scheduled to end on October 2. The MLB Field of Dreams game will take place in Dyersville, Iowa, on August 11, 2022, where the Cubs and Reds will face each other. The MLB Little League Classic will take place in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, on August 22, 2022, where the Red Sox and Orioles will face each other. The entire schedule was released on August 4, 2021.
The Cleveland MLB team will use their new name of Guardians for the very first time this MLB season.
In the regular season, each of all 30 MLB teams will play 162 games and 52 series in the span of 186 days from March 31 to October 2.
