Fun old-time baseball jokes and other stuff
(I posted the first 2 on reddit myself so don't think I'm stealing these)
- Hey our ship name should be Tully cos we can really make some Sparks fly! (referencing the pitcher, Tully Sparks)
- Don't worry, my name isn't McCredie so I won't Judge! (referencing the outfielder, Judge McCredie)
- (NSFW WARNING) "Hey Babe, would there Evers be a Chance I could Tinker with you? Because you're giving me a boner harder than Fred Merkle's!" (credit to Spinmove55 on reddit)
- (Another NSFW WARNING) Call me Mel, cos the more I see you, the more I get Harder. (referencing the pitcher, Mel Harder)
MLB Lockout of 2022
Im glad the lockout of 2022 didnt last long. Aprox. 6 days. It was about money as usual. The players wanted more in certain areas, the owners didnt want to give them the amount the players wanted so they had to negotiate. The games originally thought that would be missed appear to be able to be made up. Good for all involved, especially the fans. It didnt make much sense to me that they couldnt come to an agreement so Im glad they figured it out.
hi i=new
hi i am a pitcher and just got a save yesterday in a 9-8 game and i'm in little league so it was very clutch
Who will win the AL East?
Ok, so as a Yankees fan, I want to remain unbiased. But for anyone that is not an AL East team fan, I turn to you. Who do you think will win the AL East? The Rays, Yankees or Red Sox have the best chance I think. It's quite possible all three could make the Postseason, but it is only Early May.
Can they pull it off?
Do you think the Dodgers can pull it off against the Red Sox this year? After losing to the Astros last year, they definitely deserve a win this year. Let me know what you think!!!

Embalance in Majors
The Major Leagues has a major problem. It is lop sided and one sided. The NHL solved this and spreads out players and distributes players using chances like free agency and trade. This is not done and Boston and Yankees became a dynasty that should not be.Oakland A's was a mile stone and player for player and as a team they were physically stronger than the Yankees and Boston combined. Now there is the Reggie Jackson theory that as A's should be one-sided now to Yankees relation. This was all done by a greedy blundering President of Majors who is a brat and made Yankees and Boston unbreakable. This problem as the J's could be solved by shuffling players from around the Majors.Plant players NL on Orioles,White Sox again, chemistry.Put them on low…

Adoption
This wiki seems to be in a bit of a sad state at the moment Some critical articles are missing and many major articles are years out of date, or important subjects are only stubs. There doesn't seem to be any sustained editing by other users at the moment; there are few checks on vandalism, and I was thinking of adopting the wiki. Does anyone have any objection/any thoughts? Super Teams era 70's ML
70's was a super era outer space for every ML team. They had their dream players and lineups.Players locked in classified secret files. The league had no resemblance of the players now or during what they are feeding as 70's.Playstyles were really different than any players anyone has seen.Their offense and fielding was not close to any of these players but way better. Each club had many of these type of Super players.Players and teams back then were many times more powerful than a babyboomer era team of late 80's.Roger Stark being and Carter was long hair Mr.NY player and there were 3 more on the same team,Hernandez. All of them high talent level.Strength and playing skills were past 100 just start for shortstop. They were all normal people …
Umpires and t.v. and computers
Umpires should utilize t.v. monitors, computers and microphones.Baseball is in the age for perfection and how does he have a strike zone when he could have communication to umpires to monitors and computers. They could relay to a headset on every umpire.Laser strike zone.Instant replay pause by umpire or dispute by a team's coaching staff.Umpires would be distracted by a visor with a computer strike zone.Pitches and strike zone and hitters strike zone. And if a fan comes on the field why don't they pass him a bat or support him with bats.Intruder dangerous possibly on the field use your bat to defend and make an arrest hand off to the guards.Players should know on the field to make an arrest and history of these fans, microphone and headset on…

Queen Armada/Ottawa and American League
Ottawa should be made into a American League team from Expos. They should be given the rights to Expos and to build a AL team in Ottawa. The team would have more success and more of a power game, power hitting and Starting pitching. They could play the Blue Jays in rivalry. They would have American fans to Ottawa area.Ottawa would need a dome and retractable one and their seasons for baseball.Hockey fans are great baseball fans and dropped from the Expos.Hockey then will put Ottawa into an AL team.NL failed and pinch hitter can be DH.Ottawa will be a highly offensive club with starting pitching the Jays don't do.Codes to do with Ottawa for baseball.Drafts and minor league.Trades open up to them.Success would be there and it is something that sh…

Clemens Trial Ends In Mistrial
Roger Clemens perhaps one of the best pitchers of all time got some of the best news of his life today. The judge in Clemen's perjury trial ruled the trial a mistrial after declaring that the evidence they had against Clemens was out of bounds. The US government perhaps hit the greatest foul ball by allowing this trial to happen. U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton was quoted as saying "There are rules that we play by and those rules are designed to make sure both sides receive a fair trial."
While Clemens is currently off the hook, he may not be permanently off the hook for his perjury charges. Walton has proclaimed that he will have another hearing on September 2 to determine whether or not a new trial case should begin. If a new trial case…
Jeter Gets 3000th Hit
On Saturday, Derek Jeter became the first ever member of the New York Yankees to join the 3000 hit club. Not only did he get his 3,000th hit, but he did it in grandiose fashion. He hit his 3,000th hit on a home run blast. He also ended up going five for five on the day and helping his team win.
Many sports writers are already spectating when Derek Jeter will get his 4,000th hit. In fact, when he got on after a bunt single, the Jumbotron message at the stadium appeared with a message saying "Countdown to 4,000." After Jeter's amazing game on Saturday, people are speculating that Derek Jeter is back in prime form and that his motivation is at an all time high level. In fact Joe Maddon, manager of the Tampa Bay Rays, said “He went a little abo…
America: Baseball's Top Model
In no surprise, as Derek Jeter approaches his 3,000th hit and attempts to be the first member of the New York Yankees to ever reach this plateau, many sports pundits have already been discussing who might be the next "Derek Jeter" or the next mega superstar in baseball. Jelisa Castrodale from NBC Sports, discusses her top five candidates for the next "Derek Jeter."
Her candidates include - Jose Bautista, Ryan Braun, Evan Longoria, Andrew McCutchen, and Troy Tulowitzki. Let's briefly look at some of these athletes' statistics.
- Jose Bautista - Bautista was this year's top vote recipient for the All-Star Game. He is currently leading the league with 28 home runs and batting an outstanding .331. The only drawback is Bautista is already 31 years …
Nut-Free Night at the Ballpark
Imagine being a kid again, obsessed with America's favorite pastime. When your chance comes to go to a ball game, you're not allowed. Doctors orders. You've got an extreme allergy to peanuts.
It sounds absurd, but this scenario occurs more often than you would think. About 1% of the population is allergic to peanuts, causing 10 deaths per year in the U.S. alone. Unfortunately for the affected, peanuts are the staple food of baseball. Hot dogs and beer have their place, but one cannot got to a baseball game without walking all over peanut shells and coming into contact with peanut dust in the air. It's an absolute tragedy for that 1% of America's youth.
Luckily, times are changing. Approximately half of MLB teams are now hosting at least one …

Dodgers Declare Bankruptcy
Yesterday, the Los Angeles Dodgers declared bankruptcy. Fay Vincent who served as the commissioner of baseball from 1989 to 1992 wrote a column for Fox News debating what this means for the rest of the league and Major League Baseball itself.
He was quick to point out that the two main concerns are - character and financial strength. One of the problems of the Dodgers bankruptcy is that it interjects the court system into baseball's world of politics and agreements. Complete and absolute control of the Dodgers now lays in the hands of a Federal Bankruptcy Court Judge. The issue is almost entirely out of the hands of present commissioner Bud Selig. According to Vincent, "Any time a baseball club comes under the legal control of a court there a…
