James Dansby Swanson (born February 11, 1994) is an American professional baseball shortstop for the Chicago Cubs of Major League Baseball. He previously played for the Atlanta Braves. He was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks with the first overall in the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft, but traded him to the Braves during the 2015–16 offseason.
