Elmer Dessens Jusaino [deh-SENZ] (born January 13, 1971 in Hermosillo, Mexico) is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Atlanta Braves. He bats and throws right-handed and is 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs 200 pounds. His 2007 salary was $1.7 million and his pitching speed can reach 90-93 mph. On March 26, 2007, Dessens was traded from the Los Angeles Dodgers to the Milwaukee Brewers for reserve outfielder Brady Clark and cash. On August 8, 2007, the Brewers released him. On August 11, 2007, Dessens signed a minor league contract with the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies called him up to the major league club on August 15 where he started 5 games going 1-1 with a 7.58 ERA. Dessens became a free agent at the end of the season. On January 5, 2008, he signed a minor league contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates, but was released during spring training.

He signed with the Atlanta Braves on August 27, 2008.[1]
