The Somerset Patriots are a Minor league baseball team participating in the Double-A Northeast division of the restructured Minor Leagues. The Patriots play their home games at TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater, New Jersey.
History[]
The Patriots were founded in 1998 as founding members of the independent Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB). In their first season, 1998, the Patriots played all their games on the road awaiting their home ballpark, TD Bank Ballpark, to be constructed.
While in the ALPB, the Somerset club won six league championships (2001, 2003, 2005, 2008, 2009, and 2015). The Patriots appeared in ten total league championships.
Somerset became the New York Yankees Double-A affiliate beginning in the 2021 season. The Patriots replaced the Trenton Thunder as the Yankees farm club.
2021 Season[]
The Patriots began their first season as a minor league team on May 4, 2021 with a win on their home field against the Harrisburg Senators, 6-0.
