Jesus Alou 1965

Jesús María Rojas Alou (hay-SOOS ah-LOO) (March 24, 1942 – March 10, 2023) was a Dominican professional baseball outfielder. During a 15-year Major League Baseball (MLB) career, he played for the San Francisco Giants (1963–68), the Houston Astros (1969–73; 1978–79), the Oakland Athletics (1973–74), and the New York Mets (1975). He was the youngest of a trio of baseball-playing brothers that included Felipe and Matty.

During his career, Alou played in 1380 games, batting .280 with 32 Home runs and 377 RBIs. Late in his career, he played with Cordoba of the Mexican League, then signed with the Astros as a player-coach. he served as a scout for the Montreal Expos, then became a scouting executive for the Boston Red Sox.

Alou had five children, and retired with his wife to the Dominican Republic.
