1800s[]
1900s-1940s[]
1924, Cardinals pitcher Jesse Haines throws the first no-hitter in Cardinals history. It is also the only one ever thrown by a Card at Sportsman's Park.
1950s-1970s[]
1974, legendary hurler Bob Gibson records his 3,000th strikeout against Cincinnati -- 50 years to the day that another Cardinal pitcher, Jesse Haines, had thrown a no-hitter. Gibson is only the second pitcher in MLB history to do so (Walter Johnson).
