Nevada is a state in the Mountain West region of the United States. Nevada has 17 counties and a total population of over 2.5 million and is 110,567 square miles making Nevada the nation's 35th most populous and 7th largest state in the US. The state name derives from the Spanish "Nevada" meaning "snow covered."
