Robert Lazaro Andino (born April 25, 1984) is an American professional baseball infielder with the Baltimore Orioles of Major League Baseball. Before joining the Orioles in 2009, he spent parts of four seasons with the Florida Marlins from 2005 through 2008.

Baseball career[]

Florida Marlins (2002-2008)[]

Andino  was drafted in the second round of 2002 MLB Draft by Florida Marlins.[1]

He was promoted to the Marlins on September 2, 2005.[2] He made his major-league debut two days later on September 4. His first hit was on September 17 off of Vicente Padilla against the Philadelphia Phillies.

On April 1, 2008, Andino hit his first home run was off New York Mets reliever Matt Wise.

Baltimore Orioles (2009-present)[]

Andino was traded to the Baltimore Orioles for Hayden Penn on April 1, 2009.[3] He made his Oriole debut on April 9, 2009.

In the last two weeks of the 2011 season, Andino made three clutch hits to prevent the Boston Red Sox from clinching the American League Wild Card.

On July 17, 2012, Andino was placed on the 15-Day Disabled List due to a left shoulder injury.[4]
